First Time Documentary Filmmakers Discuss Their Journey to 'Plimpton!'

First time documentary filmmakers Luke Poling and Tom Bean discuss making their film Plimpton! Starring George Plimpton as Himself about the eclectic actor and journalist.

Says Poling about getting the family's blessing to make the film, "I looked up [George Plimpton's widow] Sarah Plimpton in the phone book, wrote her a letter outlining what we would like to do and called her a couple of weeks later. Tom and I went down and met with her a few weeks after that and made the case for why two guys who had never written or directed a feature documentary should be entrusted with her husband’s story. Later on, she said that she felt like this was the kind of thing that George would have done; having some of the upstarts take it on."
