Please stop in to meet and greet independent filmmaker Julie Dash, the designated 2013 Bob Allison (Allesee) Visiting Professor in Media. 

Julie Dash is perhaps best known for her 1991 feature film “Daughters of the Dust” which is listed in the National Film Registry.  She is a director, writer, producer whose body of work is highly acclaimed for its portrayal of African American women on film and for its attention to race and gender issues.

Ms. Dash will be on hand to talk about her work, and the Allesee Master class she will be teaching the Winter ’13 term, during her residency on the WSU campus.
