Wayne State University Students Use Social Media to Raise Money for Homeless Veterans
Wayne State University students who are taking Mass Media Analysis and Criticism with Professor Kim Conely, are working hard to raise money for homeless veterans in Detroit through the use of many kinds of social media. Their goal is to raise $1,000 by the end of the 2013 winter semester and to donate it to Southwest Solutions of Piquette Square, who own a new 150-unit apartment project in Detroit that houses and cares for homeless veterans.
Professor Conely hopes that her students will not only learn something valuable from using social media, but also learn how to use social media for something good and worthwhile.
