Creative Many Talks seeks a curious and dedicated Video Production Intern to assist the Creative Industries department with capturing and editing video footage of artist talks and discussions. Approximately twice a month, the Video Production Intern will attend Creative Many talks and/or meet with artists, arts organizers, creative practitioners, or creative entrepreneurs for short interviews. 
BACKGROUND 
Creative Many Talks is a series of presentations, provocations, and discussions taking place in Detroit and across the state of Michigan. These sessions are designed to empower artists and creative practitioners to take the next step in building sustainable professional practices, while exposing them to creative industries professionals from all over the world. Gallerists, curators, publicists, creative directors, literary agencies, legal and accounting professionals, creative residencies, and grantmakers represent the types of presenters that are invited to Michigan to engage with artists.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION 
  • Travels to sites for interviews and recording of Creative Many events. 
  • Record, edit, and produce artist talk recap and promo videos 
  • Assist with implementing, monitoring and optimizing Creative Many marketing video campaigns in a timely and accurate manner 
  • Assist with troubleshooting all video campaigns as they go live and when errors arise 
  • Communicate project details with stakeholders and other team members 
  • Produce video-shorts, on average approximately 90 seconds, with narrative clarity and professionalism 
  • Traveling requirements may include Detroit, Grand Rapids, and surrounding areas 


DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 
  • Access to own video equipment (high definition image quality required) 
  • Experience using video production hardware (digital video cameras, microphones, lights, etc.) 
  • Knowledge of current web-based digital media (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.) 
  • Attention to detail, ability to work autonomously within a larger team, and excellent organizational skills 
  • Ability to work well independently and in groups, inside and outside of the department 
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment 
  • Access to video editing software (familiarity with Final Cut Pro strongly suggested) 
  • Knowledge in the nonprofit sector, community development, and the arts a plus
