Lights Out

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     The power went out at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, as well as other public buildings throughout the city, on Tuesday morning.

Christopher Scalise, who works for the IT department for the college of fine arts, said he was in his office when the lights went out. “It makes you feel a bit helpless, having no power. Luckily, almost everyone has some type of device to communicate with,” he said.

Scalise shared a photo of the hallway in Old Main building, which houses painting and drawing studios. “Even though the power was out, these studios are bathed in natural light. The students stayed in class to finish their artwork,” he said.
